Miguel began producing his own music as one ‘half’ of the underground duo HCB. Miguel isn’t messing about in 2016, and has already been heading up Tribal Sessions parties all over the country before announcing this new LP. If we said we suspected that Miguel Campbell had a time turner would that be too geeky a Harry Potter reference? Yes? Well in that case let us say that we have no idea where he finds the time to juggle his commitments as a producer with his hectic touring schedule. He has just released a storming new solo LP called ‘Memoirs’ on Outcross Records and today he joins our Podcast series…. Hoorah!
Through tracks like ‘Chemistry’, ‘Own Thing’ and ‘Everlasting’, Miguel explores a range of both sounds and crucially, emotions, that have defined his years in dance music. Also nodding to the classic French touch sound – one his production work has long been renowned for – on tracks like ‘Knightmare’, a raft of punchier, peak-time house grooves also punctuate ‘Memoirs’ – an album that listens like the most versatile of his three studio albums to date.
